September 2024
September saw members going to Maidstone Studios. We witnessed the recording of Deal Or No Deal with Stephen Mulhern. Look out for us in the New Year in the audience!
July 2024
July's outing was to the Museum of Kent Life on a scorching hot day! We learnt about Kent history, got up close with the farm animals and had lunch in the excellent café.
June 2024
June's outing was to Troutbeck Garden, Otford, courtesy of the National Garden Scheme.
A 3 acre garden enclosed by the river Darent with a large pond, wild area and views to the North Downs. There is extensive structural planting with yew and box topiary. We were given a tour by Mrs Jenny Alban Davies which was followed by tea and cake. A very enjoyable afternoon.
May 2024
May's outing for members was to The Battle of Britain Museum in Hawkinge.
A most interesting museum full of personal memorabilia of loved ones who served during WW2. Also included lots of aeroplane parts retrieved over the years from crash sites not just British. Full size vehicles and planes. After having a good look round we retired to the cafe for lunch. We were amazed how many people of different nationalities were there especially on a weekday. If you haven’t been here I would put it on your list, highly recommended.
